Producción científica, colaboración y ámbitos de investigación en Enfermedades Infecciosas y Microbiología Clínica (2003–2007)

2010

Introduction: Collaboration is essential for biomedical research. The Carlos III Health Institute (the Spanish national public organization responsible for promoting biomedical research) has encouraged scientific collaboration by promoting Thematic Networks and Cooperative Research Centres. Scientific collaboration in Enfermedades Infecciosas y Microbiologia Clinica journal is investigated. Methods: Papers published in Enfermedades Infecciosas y Microbiologia Clinica in the period 2002-2007 have been identified. Bibliometrics and Social Network Analysis methods have been carried out in order to quantify and characterise scientific collaboration and research areas. Results: A total of 805 pa…

P37 Phase 1 evaluation of bintrafusp alfa (M7824), a bifunctional fusion protein targeting TGF-β and PD-L1, in cervical cancer

2019

Introduction/Background Globally, cervical cancer is one of the most common and lethal gynaecological cancers. Advanced/metastatic disease is typically treated with chemotherapy, often with poor objective response rates (ORRs) and durations of response (DORs) in pretreated patients; ORRs with anti-PD-1 therapies range from 12%-26%. Bintrafusp alfa* (M7824) is an innovative first-in-class bifunctional fusion protein composed of the extracellular domain of the TGF-βRII receptor (a TGF-β ‘trap’) fused to a human IgG1 mAb blocking PD-L1. We report safety and efficacy in patients with cervical cancer treated with bintrafusp alfa in dose-escalation and expansion phases of an ongoing phase 1 trial…

A multisite-cooperative research programme on risk assessment of transgenic crops

1999

Genetically modified plants are now being commercialised in several countries as regulatory authorities consider that the balance of risk versus benefit is beneficial. However, numerous questions remain unanswered, especially the impact of these plants when used over large areas and under a range of variable environmental conditions. Some issues need to be re-evaluated [1, 2]. Risk/safety analysis, as well as prospects of transgenic crops depend on the scale which is to be considered. Extrapolation of methods, and laboratory and greenhouse results, to large-scale farmers’ fields, may provide useful preliminary data, but is not a sound approach to the study of the consequences of the commerc…
